PoundPost

A £1-to-post listings marketplace: buying, selling, jobs, and giveaways, all in one place.

The PoundPost home page, with the one pound posting headline and the category grid.

The idea

£1 to post a listing, £1 to boost it for 7 days, no commission on anything sold. It covers every category, not just one.

What's built

  • On-platform messaging between buyers and sellers, with location filtering throughout
  • Full user dashboards and full staff dashboards
  • Every UI component fully custom, nothing off-the-shelf
  • Full build docs written and ready to hand to engineering

On the site

  • Sixteen categories, from electronics and property through to jobs, services and hire
  • A free section, for what is being given away rather than sold
  • A location set per visitor, filtering the feed to a place
  • The whole flow stated in three steps on the page: write it, pay £1, boost it if you want
  • A live feed of what has just been posted

The brand

The logo direction is deliberately still open. Nine early directions were rejected for being variations on drawing the £ symbol itself rather than actually solving it. The settled direction is a bold, graphic symbol-plus-wordmark pairing, built to still look right in fifty years.
