The idea
Home Shopping Centre is a classified marketplace platform, the kind of place you list a car, a flat, or a shop's entire inventory, not just a single product.
What's built
- Full migration to a modern stack: Next.js 14, Supabase, Vercel, and Stripe Connect for payments
- Up to 10 shops and 10 businesses per account: shops need no verification to get started, businesses go through KYC
- International duties handled through Zonos, shipping through the DHL MyDHL API
- A brand identity built around a house shape with H and SC stacked inside it, deliberately left open on one wall
On the site
- Eight departments under one account: Live, Shop, Motors, Property, Jobs, Services, Digital and Events
- Live shopping sitting alongside the ordinary listings rather than bolted on beside them
- A location set per visitor, so the feed is filtered to somewhere real
- Basket, direct messages and notifications all carried in the header
- Currency and language switchers, for the city-by-city launch it is scoped for
Go-to-market
Launch is planned city by city, starting with Manchester, London, and Dubai, leading with Motors, then Property, then general Shop listings. Early sellers get a permanent Founding Seller badge and an honest heads-up about how early the platform still is.
